Introduction

Jakarta has 8 active volunteers in total, 1 Intern, v Teacher's Volunteers and 2 At-Home Volunteers. We are looking for some new Local Volunteers to help us with Fundraising, Event, Media, Curriculum (Class Management), and also Math and English Teachers for online classes.

Location

The Jakarta middle is located in a large business firm on a placidity street. There are three classrooms
in the firm, one for each subject. At that place are children, other volunteers and local staff
staying at the eye.

Looking at September….

Center Reopening

Our journey begins hither, afterward ii years of covid close down & nosotros need to shift classes online. Now nosotros're set up to warmly welcome our students, teachers, and volunteers back. It was a common cold pouring twenty-four hours in the neighborhood merely "it aint going to dim our burn down" to continue a bout & invite the children to get complimentary classes at IHF. We received some warm, some cold feedback to our invitation. In general it's been warm, from all the customs members aware of who we are & excited to get their kids dorsum for free classes. Nosotros were walking around a slum expanse where trash piles everywhere, houses by a river (and of grade with much floating trash), pocket-size rooms as houses (around 8×eight msq) with 5 plus people living in information technology. Nosotros passed interesting things I thought I'd never see in this uppercase city. Just what interests me most is how this community seems to be so shut to each other (non but because their tiny houses are piled next to each other) but they gather, they talk, they inspire each other, & they have intendance of each other..

I'm Marcella, GLD for Dki jakarta Center and this is my first time joining flyering day- seeing a whole other worlds within the city I call dwelling.

What a wonderful manner to finish a calendar month other than being effectually friends and family. On the concluding twenty-four hours of July, the Dki jakarta Center Team were so excited to see each other & to welcome new and returning parents and students to annals for our free classes.

Such a joy to watch how enthusiastic they were to become educated, in total we got virtually 100 students from just this first time!  I n the last infinitesimal earlier the registration day, we received very sad news from the neighborhood Government Chief disapproving of us holding offline activities (which include offline classes) due to the increasing number of COVID cases jumping and so loftier this past calendar week. That actually breaks our hearts, because we actually experienced in talking with them- the hard time our students have to get educated when they demand to access all sources online, and their parents accept no thought how. Again the gap between those who have & accept non volition be ever more than obvious than always postal service covid..A grave concern

What would you acquaintance a teacher to? I'd say "inspiration".

Not just to inspire the students to acquire just too they inspire me to share & empower each other. We are and so excited to see familiar faces & also a few new faces of our teachers! Must have felt like going back to schoolhouse for the first fourth dimension only this fourth dimension yous're the teacher, how fascinating..

In order to get the volunteer teachers ready to kickoff their class, we have some gathering & training. We hope our students will be excited & learn a lot from their teacher as the Djakarta Team is helping in the background as support.

One of our TEP students, Andini, has pushed herself out of her condolement zone to footstep up & join a singing competition in her school during Independence Mean solar day celebration. Her mentor (as always) encouraged her to be confident & to try her best, and so she did.

This Award we would like to warmly give to Enti, Andini's mentor. She'southward such an incredible mentor to Andini. If you always communicate with Indonesian teenagers yous'd understand how hard & many layers until one mentor tin can connect & earn that trust from them.

Enti started her journeying very slowly but consistently, she knows how to interact with Andini with minimal supervision & guides evidently she knows what she's doing.

Not simply there Enti has a very important function in IHF, she's besides part of the Instruction Squad as Community Outreach person. She will represent IHF in the optics of the community, for example schools, universities, and other organizations. Which very certain would be a smashing assist for IHF to flourish.
